I have a rev1 B&W G3/300 mhz. I broke my warranty (was up anyhoo) and tried to overclock it today. I followed instructions from xlr8yourmac.com and well, no results. I tried EVERY single configuration, from 350mhz up to 650mhz and nothing. On 350mhz settings, it did started up once but never got past boot.

I left the 100mhz bus speed alone...

Any suggestions?

Is there no setting for anything lower than 350mhz and higher than 300mhz? Try that... As for the processor itself, some processors have good yields while others do not. For example, I have a beige G3 266mhz and I can clock it to the maximum of 315/70mhz, tho not that stable, I am at 300mhz supser stable. My friend, however, with a desktop beige g3 266mhz (mine is a minitower) got his processor to clock up to 366mhz! (running at 333mhz stable) He must have gotten a great yield... so this is one thing to consider.

I don't think their are any settings for jumps inbetween 300 and 350. That and the increase in speed would be almost unnoticeable.

I was going to try playing with the bus speeds and the clock speeds together, but I've *heard* this was a bad idea.

Has anyone tried this, and had successful results?
