Well, not neon per se, but they're close. They're also flexible. Some users of another board pointed me to (among others, but this was the best) http://www.coolwireusa.com/products.htm .

I want to wire the inverters into my power supply so I don't have to actually turn them on (or use batteries). The 12v one looks the best, but it's rather expensive.

The G3's power supply has one different pin from an standard ATX, but I can't remember which. If there's a 3.3v connector there, could I use it to drive the 3v inverter for the string lights, or is .3v too much extra over the rating?
