Does anybody know where to get schematics of an imac? I am thinking about some hardware extensions but without schematics it becomes difficult.

You will have to dress Ninja-Style and sneak in Apple Campus in Cupertino, CA. You will have to use your Shadow Warrior skills to get through Darth Steve Jobs' droids and steal the blueprints.

I have no idea where you can get schematics, sorry.

They would be available for an Apple Certified Technician. There are tons of them [schematics] on the software they get, obvoisly.

I wanted a copy as well, but for artistic reasons.

trace the PCB and draw your own? LOL If I had to use it badly, that's maybe something I'd do...given enough time...Otherwise, the closest thing you can get is a 7400 Manual and some hardware spec on the Mobo.

What I'm curious is what do people use to make schematics on a Mac? I had to do all my EE schematic designs over VPC on Protel99, which is VERY painful...
G4/450, T-bird 1.05GHz, iBook 500, iBook 233...4 different machines, 4 different OSes...(9, 2k, X.1, YDL2.2 respectively) PiA to maintain...

The PCB program question has come up before. Most recently here.

I downloaded a manual from Apple's site (9MB!) that has a lot of schematics in it. It's called "Service Source: iMac." I can't remember exactly where I got it, but I can extract a few pages and send them to you [topic starter]. Email me.

Oh yeah, no charge.
