You are always looking for cool mods for your malformed iMac. Try installing one of these cheap lights in the case or in your mouse or in your keyboard!

This was one of my secret projects, and it didnt work. The **** blew up. Im not kidding. Apparentlyi, during shipping, the phosphorus coating of the copper wire was cracked, and when you hook it up to AC, it lit up, and it was cool for a few seconds, then BANG! The wire got rocked. I dunno. Maybe I'll try again, but its expensive.

Cash,

You say you tried the AC version, so you wanted to light the iMac case with the 110VAC form the wall. You could also try the 3V or 9V version of those EL lights and wire it to the mouse and to the low voltage side of the iMac's power supply.

yeah, but convertors cost money, make heat, and take up space. EL cable requires NO convertor. You can just wire it straight up to an A/C plug, and plug er in the wall. Its cool that way.

Not a good idea, its EXTREMELY high voltage. If it ever cracks, you'll have fish mcnuggets.

Hehehe...good point Ca$h. I'm wondering if the EL strips will be any better than the EL cable? If not, then I guess I'll have to go to fiber optic lighting. The only problem with that is it's REALLY expensive and not as bright as the EL cable.
