Could this really be crash proof? I am using Powerlogix cache utility (I tried xlr8's because I heard it was more stable, but it kept freezing on startup at 2:1). I first set it at 2:1 and it ran fine. My MacBench processor went from 937 to 1003. Then I decided to set it to 3:2 (222 MHz) and try it out. I did that over an hour ago (it has been asleep for about 20-30 min of that) and I haven't had it crash or freeze yet. My MacBench score is now 1033 and it is running at 120-153 degrees F. I only experience that max temp once and it has been running like usual otherwise.

I heard that L2 speed doesn't really affect more than benchmark testing, but I think I'll try out fps on Q3 anyways.

Your iMac will be fine.
I believe holding space bar at startup voids the cache profiler prefs, and resets it to normal...

It'll either work or it wont. It worked on both chips I've had, and no problems. I cranked it up to 1:1 and it locked. Then just restart with extensions off (hold down shift)

I am running my rev. D at 2:1 right now and it almost runs smoother at 3:2. Beats me how, but I had very few problems at 3:2. Just make sure to keep an eye on your CPU temp. Mine rose a few degrees, but nothing severe. It was still WAY under Moto's prescribed top temp. By the way, I use Powerlogix (if you didn't know) because xlr8's did some funny things.

Mine cranked up 13 degrees, but is still below the 75 Celcius high. Love the speed boost though, especially when playing MP3s and doing lots of other stuff.

When the Mac gets older, it might be less reliable at the higher MHz, but if it works for you, go for it! I use the G3 strip for the same purpose, and I overclocked my iMac DV L2 cache from 5:2 (160 MHz) to 3:2 (267 MHz), and I haven't had any problems
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx
