i opened up my dv/se, and on my way replacing the shield in the bottom, i dropped a screw in! when i turned it back on again, the corner of the monitor closest to where i dropped the screw had a blueish tint. after a few hours, it went away though.

any ideas what that was? im just kinda curious.

I believe that the screw was magnatized (either from new or by your screwdriver).

And it probably drew some of the phosphoras (sp?) away from the corner.

I think today's monitors are able to correct it by itself.

i think mr. loaf got it. see, i used a drill to remove some of the screws, and although i tested to make sure it wasnt magnetized, i guess it could have been anyway. perhaps from the drill motor?
