I'm considering changing my 13GB drive on my iMac DVSE 400 for something bigger.... a lot bigger. Anyone know if I can fit in them new Maxtor babies? 40-60-80 GB?

Thanks folks,

Bobette

Well, I've got a 40.9 GB 7200rpm HD in my iMac rev. A...so I doubt you'll have any problems. I don't think size is a problem...well physical size is...but size of HD isn't. But, I'm pretty sure all consumer HDs are standard sizes, so you shouldn't have a problem there...

Yep, any ATA/IDE drive will fit in there. I have the Maxtor 45 Gig 7200 rpm drive in my rev A. It runs really well. I think ATA drives have gotten up to 80 Gigs now.

Hey,

I put the Maxtor 46.1GB ATA/100 7200RPM (model 54610H6) inside my iMac Rev.A last couple months ago, it works great. I put the old stock WD hard drive into the IDE->USB enclouser. Anyway, you can always goto http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ and check the hard drive compatibilty.

Hope it helps

Kenneth
