I overclocked a G3 400 to 500+ using a Applescript. It wasn't all that stable so I brought it back down. I just got some new fans an want to try to get it up to 550. I can't find the script i used.

Does anyone know of the script I'm talking about or have any suggestions on ways overclocking. I'm looking for the highest mhz/stability ratio. Are there any good hardware mods that are worth doing, stability wise. thanx

um.... I think you're referring to the L2 cache, cuz I've never heard of anyone software clocking the actual chip.

You can't. Processor clockspeed is controlled by circuitry on the board.

I would _very_ much like to say that! I know you can overclock the cache and graphics chip, but the CPU?
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx
