I have a B&W 350 rev1 G3 I want to overclock if possible.
How fast can I go and be stable and can it be done.
I tried 450 and it didnt boot everytime and 500 wouldnt even do anything.
I moved the jumpers , do I need to zap pram or do anything special to make it work?
Is 400 safe? or am I stuck with my fast 350 which is fine.
Any links and feedback appreciated.

400 is probably about the maximum it can do. As far as zapping the PRAM that might not be a bad idea but shouldn't be necessary.

With the Yosemite G3/350's, 400 seemed to be the limit for most people. It's a little strange, because I pushed my Yosemite 300 up to 400 with just the processor speed jumpers. (I also up to 420mhz by mucking about with the bus speed, with the processor at 350mhz, but that's an entirely different story)
My suggestion is to go out and find heatsink+fan combo, and see if cooling the processor allows for better overclocking. I'm planning on watercooling my Yosemite soon

Well...if the machine wont boot at 450, then 400 would seem to be the max. I pushed my rev 2/350 up to 450 and it worked fine, but it would not boot at 500 or above, so 450 it stays..........it just depends on which stepping the CPU chip is......mine is a 2.1 copper IBM. THere are so many different chips out there, some have a larger tolerance built in for o/clckg, others have less....
And 400 should be fine WITHOUT any added cooling, a 50mhz bump aint gonna raise the temp that more than 10 degrees or so, assuming of course that your heat sink is in place, and the case fan is working properly, and that your vents are clean & clear of obstructions....
HTH :-)

You might try messing with the bus speed multiplier. On mine (IBM 2.1, originally at 350), I couldn't get it to boot at 450, but 400 was fine.
I dropped the bus speed to 95 MHz and set the multiplier to 4.5 for 425 MHz. It's a noticable difference over 400, and I haven't had any problems in six months.
As a bonus, you don't even have to go out and buy jumpers (just rearrange the jumper block)!
