It seems quite cramped in there, so I'm not sure there's room to put in an overclocking device -- the one I used to use on my PowerMac 6100/60 to overclock the PowerPC 601 to 80MHz was pretty big. (Goodness, don't I feel old... )

What I meant by overclocking.... was moving some resistors around as I did in my iMac or as in the iBook or G4...
In fact, I wanted to have a report on how to move the resistors and so on...
U're right, there's no room in there for an overclocking device

Modifications made at your own risks !!!!! http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~t-imai/ibooke1.html
By "configuring" the site means "moving the resistors in one of the two positions they can have" ! (take a look at the resistors configuration used in your iBook to understand the whole thing - it's easy)
By the way, I forgot to tell you not to burn your logic board and to tell you that those modifications may void your warranty !
Don't expect a speed bump over 30 %, your computer may become unstable !
I'm pretty sure this works with firewire iBooks too but I haven't tested it yet

Hmmm... that's a pretty cool site. Overclocking instructions for everyone! Even overclock an iMac DV to 1Ghtz!!! I would overclock my iBook:
1) If the instructions where for my modle (iBook SE <FireWire> )
2) If I knew what he meant by "configure" the resistors" ??

The resistors mentioned at that site are the same for your firewire ibook.
Configure in this case means, de-solder a resistor from one position and solder it in a different position, positions specificed on that website.

the resistors here are acting as jumpers did on pentium motherboards.

mkd, if you take your ibook apart, please take photos of the firewire area of the motherboard, on both sides of the motherboard for me.
