I have an Apple II and a bunch of software for it on 5.25" disks. I do not have a 3.5" drive for the Apple II. I have read that using the Apple II unidisk 5.25" drive on the classic macs can ruin the floppy controller (lowendmacs.com). Is there any way to add the 5.25" disk (prodos) compatability to a macintosh?

There is, but I doubt you'll be able to find any of the parts for it. Apple made a special drive and an expansion card that went inside the SE to run the drive. Once again, apple discontinued this way back in 1990 so I really doubt you'll be able to find it.

The easiest way is to find a friend who has a IIgs with a 5.25 and a 3.5 drive and have them copy the stuff onto floppies readable in your mac.

That is, if your Mac still has a floppy drive

I have a 7200 in the next room with a floppy drive, but I can't remember the last time I used floppies. Also, you need an Apple II emulator to run the software, in case you didn't know.

I would guess having a floppy drive is not an issue, as Yukon refers to having access to a classic mac with a floppy port, which would most definitely have a floppy drive...
