I've never actually seen one in person, but they are very cheap compared to 8500 and up tower, for good reasons. But can the 3.5" disk drive in an 800/8100 be removed and replaced with a normal 5.25" device, like a CD ROM drive or somehting? or can it even be replaced with a 3.5" device like a zip? I ask becuase I have this old PC tower as my drive tower on my Mac 7500, and I am getting so sick of this thing. I though PC's were supposed to be easy to upgrade and Macs were not(ya right). The case of every Mac I own comes right of with two fingers. This friggin PC tower has to be unplugged, which means I have to shut of my 7500, then I have to slide it out from under my desk, yank the front off, then the big heavy metal houseing, and getting it back on is even more of a pain in the ass!!! I'd be nice ot have my tower in a Mac case, which is why i ask about the disk drive in teh 800/8100 tower.

---------and---------

Could someone expalin in detail how this case opens. Does the left side fold down like on 9500's or does it open a different way?

The phrase "easier to upgrade" was referring to the availibility of upgrading a PC as apposed to a Mac. There are more options and variety when upgrading a PC, and it is also inexpensive, it does not mean that they are "easier" to upgrade.

People aren't as dumb as you think. Wait, what was I thinking, 90% of the world uses WINDOWS!
You don't like Macs? Good, more for me.

Yes, but it's just finny that PC's are actually a pain in teh A$$ to upgrade and Macs are cake, from my old Quadra 700 to my Performa 550, to my mothership, the 7500 G3. I could put a new card in any one faster than I could simply take the case off of my PC tower and put it back on!

No back to the question though...

If you want an easy-to-open case, the Quadra 800/8100/8500 cases are NOT the way to go. They're the work of the dark side.
