PC in a g4?

I was thinking it would be sweet to put a pc in a g4. The mac cases are nothing but awesome compared to the boring pc ones (and rip-off ugly ass compaq ones). It wouldnt be hard to do, but i need to know:

Are g4 motherboards ATX compliant (as for where they screw on to the case, support a standard ATX power supply)?
Can the back of the case (where components plug in) pop out, because the configuration of the connections are different.

And, is there anywhere where one could buy only the empty case?

While this not might be exactly what you are looking for, this should be helpful.

Hope this helps.

Funny you should post about that... me and a friend were just talking about it today (not for me, for him - i wouldn't insuly the brilliant design of the G4 case by sticking in a P3 or Athlon!).
Lemme know how you go.
What im worried about is cooling... the G4 is a very cool processor - the P3's and Athlons are very damn hot...

It seems like a hell of a lot of expense and waste of great hardware to do what you are thinking about. As far as I knew, it wasn't possible to get a hold of just the case for a G4. What are you going to do, spend a couple grand on a great machine, only to rip out all the components and throw a PC inside? That seems a tad outrageous to me.

However, if you were looking for someone to give the hardware away to, I've got an ageing B&W G3 tower that would love to accomodate a G4 mobo and components! :-)

Cool, i found a G4 case for 200 bucks... I'm buying one and painting it... Couldn't find any iMac enclosures though... I want to make a lamp out of one.

The iLamp. I wonder how long before it melts
