Rev A-D can all be chipped the same way, how high you can go and how hot you get depends significantly on the CPU in your specific machine, one may chip to 300mhz (not really worth the time or risk) or another may happily go to 366 even. You'll only find out by trying. Download guagepro and check your cpu temp, if it's already running above about 135, I wouldn't chip it at all without additional cooling!

As the saying goes, do you feel lucky, punk? (Just kidding!)

well its running at a 144f or up here in canada its 46C
and thats on the hotter end ive never seen it over that yet, so i guess i will take the plunge and try it out, i was reading that i should try to keep the bus speed the same
is that a rule of thumb or jibberish?
well if all goes wrong i can get an upgrade

After having OC'd an 8500 and a G4DP, and a bunch of mods to my SO's iMac, I'd recommend a simple processor card swap. It's even more trouble to get into an iMac than the 8500 and finding the top sweet spot could take a while. I replaced her 266 module with a 333, and it's been running fine at 333/222 for a year. Just make sure it is from an iMac. The processor board is identical in appearance to the PowerBook's(same as the Wallstreet233 I used to have) but the on-board ROM's are machine specific.
