Was just thinking. With some modification of the plastic, replace the 12.1" with a 15" studio, then replace the CD-ROM with a DVD. Make a pretty damn sweet system into an absolutely incredible machine.

I think that you would have to put in a slot loading DVD like in the iMacs, not a spiffy vertical mounted drive

I don't see how a slotloading DVD would work. A Laptop DVD player will work since it has the clips in the center.

I don't see how a 15" LCD would work. How would you hack the case, keep the speakers, and not make it look like hell? Just curious. . .

There's a 1" mold around the 12.1" display that would be pretty easy to take off.. That brings it up to 14.1"...

With a little modification to the speakers, you COULD get a 15" in there.

However a 14" LCD from a PowerBook would fit perfectly with just the removal of the mold. That would allow for the TAM to have full 1024x768 resolution. The DVD player would be a snap to stick in with probably little or no modification to the case.
