I'm trying to replace the floppy drive in a PowerMac 4400/200 which sees bad sectors in every other disk. Lucky, I have an unsued LC at hand...

But when I plug that auto-insert drive in replacement of the manual-insert original, as soon as the 4400 power up, the floppy eject motor starts too !

Does anyone have pinout information for any of these two machines, or a fix ?

Please don't reply "it can't be done" if you can't prove it

Seriosuly, you can't flip-flot the auto-inject and the manual drives. I'm a Macintosh Technican at a school district and have lots of hands on experience with this. I have several drives I would happily give to you... but obviously I don't want to pay for shipping. If you don't mind sending me a postage pre-paid box - I'll ship you a drive (or two). please respond to npynenberg@neenah.k12.wi.us
