I currently have an 8500 with a 120mhz 604 processor. Should I expect to have any problems if I put in 300mhz 604e processor card originally from an 8600?

Well if my memory serves me, the motherboard designs between the 8500 and the 8600 are big enough to make me believe that the switching of the upgrade cards would be unsucessful if not dangerous to the machine. I would wait till an expert here can answer your question here. Personally I wouldn't try it.

To my knowledge the Mach 5 604e chips (like the 300 MHz) are not compatible with anything other than the machines the shipped with.
