well once again boredom got the better of me and i hacked up another of my macs...
this time the victm was my duo 270c. the stiff keyboard and shatty trackball bothered me so i did away with them, along with adding the board of a minidock to add all the normal ports, which i would now need.
it looks alrite from the front
the back is open right now, showing how i mounted the stuff. its all basically screwed to the box some way or another, it all fit quite well.
anyhow, i just thought u mite want somthing to look at.

Oh dear God! I mean, no offense, but you couldn't find a pretty box at least? That's some nifty work though. It would be cool to mount that in the box for a monitor/iMac/laptop and put the real screen peeking out where the screen on the box is. If that makes sense. Anyway, keep up the hacktastic work!

One of those heavy duty glass bottle beer boxes would be really cool. My band uses them to carry cords in they last forever (our drummer has had the same on for at least 8 years.) and the "Bub-Mac" would be neato

Sine, I think you should paint the box. It's pretty ugly. But a neat idea.

Pretty cool sine, but you definately need to spruce the box up a little.... grab some thick silver paper or something - I'm sure you can "hack" the box too.

2 words: bril-liant.
inspired me to take apart my tiBook; i'm gonna assemble it in it's own box, so i can carry the box with it's handle, & not have to take the powerbook out!
next: my G4/cinema display in a large flowerpot.

Next you could upgrade to double corrugated with 60% post consumer recycled material. That upgrade would be SWEET!

This is such a cool 'upgrade!'
It's inspired me to 'upgrade' my Duo 280 (grayscale) and put the screen in a picture frame. I have a question though before I tear it all apart, how do you maintain the connection with the LCD from the motherboard?
I'd love to be able to mount the screen in a picture frame on the wall and have a wireless mouse be my only input. If I want to do lots of text entry, I'd do it on another computer and copy the datafiles over my home network!
Seems ideal for kitchen recipies, or an MP3 controller. My machine is in no way capable of 'playing' mp3s but it could act as the interface for my server in the basement!
Thanks for the inspiration.

You could make a Spartacus look-alike with that thing. Now wouldn't that be much cooler and more shiney?
