Hey all! I've got some interesting information for you iMac users out there with a Game Wizard and a sodering iron.

First, I have the board in my lap here and the mezz connector on mine has a name on it, "FOXCONN" with a number stamped on it "9385".

Second, the Voodoo 2 chip could only use a max of 12MB of VRAM right? the Game Wizard for the iMac had 8MB on it. If you look at the card, you will see 4 groups of 4 VRAM chips on the card, 3 groups on the front and 1 on the back. ON THE BACK there are spaces left for more VRAM!!! Two more groupd of 4 are left on the back of the board for a possible max of 12MB!

I think this varifies that Micro Conversions was going to give it the extra 4MB soon. Or maybe they had a common design between the PCI and Mezzanine versions, leaving the spaces, which would make tis pos worthless.

So, anybody up for finding some VRAM chips? Or taking them off another Game Wizard?

i believe the reason it was made 8MB instead of 12MB was due to heat issues or heat concerns.

dunno for sure though

Didn't MicroConversions go bust after they released the iMac GameWizard?
