How do I burn DVD movies?

Ok here it is, I have a dvd ram and I want to know how I can copy a dvd movie. If you know how can you tell me what software I need, and what I need to do. I have a program called dvd extractor .6b, but is that enough? I will be so happy if someone writes back.
