"Question: What do I need to get started with GeoMAME ?
Answer: You need a copy of the Neo Geo Bios. There are three files, neo-sfix.rom, neo-geo.rom and ng-sm1.rom. Once you obtain them (from your NeoGeo i'd assume if you are using GeoMAME), either place them directly into your ROMs folder or put them together into one zip file called neogeo.zip. Before you ask, no I do not know where you can get these files."

Were do you get thoes stuiped files from any way?

eo-sfix.rom neo-geo.rom ng-sm1.rom

Same place you'd get the roms. I really doubt MacNN wants people to be talking about stuff like this.

i'm pretty sure i found mine at gamespy, classicgaming.com through their fileplanet (or whatever they call it).

so we can talk about where to get them for this particular website.

i can't really remember much about where i found them on their website except for them being at the time (and this was about a year ago) in their 'top 10 downloads' or something like that...

and that is the little amount of help i can offer!

Well if it's in .exe format it's probably is a self-extracting archive, try open it with latest version of Stuffit (6.5) and see if it decompresses. (StuffIt 6.5 can expand .exe archives)

Dont look for the individual files, just look for neogeo.zip: http://www.fileplanet.com/files/70000/79997.shtml

That's amazing that FilePlanet is carrying roms now. They actually have stuff like Metal Slug 3 and other arcade games that are only a few years old.
