Has anyone been able to download the RtCW 1.33 update? If so is it worth it to install? I have the workaround for playing on 1.33 servers, but are there improvements with the actual update from Aspyr?

I downloaded it and could not connect to anything worth while. I kept getting bad .pak file messages. I went to some websites and they have fixes but they are just hacks and aren't a total fix. I choose to stick with the orginal, which I have had no problems.

The 1.33 update was terrible for me- dropped my framerates to the single digits in multiplayer (I've got a Dual 500 w/ATI 8500, which smoked before). Had to reinstall and go back to 1.32...

There was a bad install released the first day or two. Go to Aspyr's site and redownload the file. I wouldn't download it from any other site than Aspyr's as other sites may not have the new file.

Is anyone other than me having trouble with this update? My problems are from a proper binary I downloaded yesterday...

I haven't had any install problems, but an ATI employee confirmed that there is an issue with ATI cards and the 1.33 release, resulting in lower framerates. In some instances I was seeing more than a 50% decrease in framerates.

I installed 1.33 and lost my old settings. I tried to set everything back to normal, but the performance was horrible. Also, the display was missing the black bars on the side. I run on a PB Titanium 550 at 800x600 and it always had black bars on the side because the native resolution is 896x600.

With the new settings, the game was completely unplayable. I don't know the FPS, but it was definitely below 10. Finally, I gave up and copied my old wolfconfig_mp.cfg into the Main directory. Luckily, the 1.33 install kept a backup of everything. Now the game is back to normal and I am getting 40+FPS regularly again.

Anyone else notice this problem?

Same story here. Frame rates dropped to the point where the game was barely playable on G4 533 with a 8500....
I went back to 1.2 (or whatever the previous version is) and everything came back to normal.
If you have an ATI card, wait.

Where is the 1.33 update? I looked on Aspyr's website and didn't see it.

It's probably not listed directly on their site because it's still a beta release with serious issues. If you're desparate for it, then go to http://www.VersionTracker.com otherwise go to Aspyr's site and use the hack they mention in the RtCW FAQ.
