I've arrived at a point in the game when a "well-known" bug from the PC version appears in the Mac version. however, I'm hoping someone can figure out a fix for a subsequent bug.

After returning from the island where you gain the Shield spell, the objective is to "talk to the gardener again." He is supposed to appear at the manor's main gate to unlock it and let you through.

The bug is that in some games, the gardener never appears. I've contacted Aspyr, who said that any such bug in the PC version would have been carried over into the Mac version.

Here's the main problem: the workaround is to use a cheat code to temporarily give yourself the ability to fly over the gate and continue from there.

HERE'S THE PUZZLE: Using Command-Tab is supposed to bring up a text field in which to enter the cheat code. However, no text field appears for me. Aspyr can't figure out why.

Does anyone have any ideas why this would be? Perhaps something about OS 10.1.5?

I'm stuck about one-third the way through the game with no way to proceed. At Aspyr's suggestion, I've tried to reinstall the game and using the former "Saved Games" folder, going back to an earlier point in the game.

No such luck. The gardener isn't there, and no text field appears when it's supposed to.....

HELP!

How do you know it's Command-TAB? There's no Command key in the Windows version and typically that combo on the Mac is used to switch between applications.

Tech Support at Aspyr told me it was Command-Tab in the Mac version.

Any ideas?

By just pressing the tab button gets you to the command line. I have already done it to attempt some cheats for just past where you're at.

(I have very low health, and I don't want to go through what I just did again)

Feel free to IM if you want. I would love to see a list of the codes. The list that I saw doesn't work for most codes. I don't know if it's PC only or what.

Hmmm... interesting. Tab by itself doesn't work for me (nor in any other combination of modifer key), and Aspyr was very clear about it. Here's a quote.

"Press the Apple key and the Tab at the same time to get the entry field. The cheat codes are the same as the PC version."

I wonder how you got it to work with Tab only.... and BTW, do you use Tab for any in-game commands?

Thanks for responding!

PS: I sent you a message on iChat, my very first instant message of any kind!

Sorry, I wasn't home. All that I have done is just pressed the tab button and you get a command line above your health. The only command that I have gotten to work is ShowFPS which doesn't seem to work properly. (It just shows -1 in the upper left corner of the screen.)

The other command that I wish did work was "satan" which supposedly gives you 999 health. (Although, I would still settle for not being at 13 health.)

I was doing pressing tab in game and not at any screens. Since the command button is my spell, it keeps casting.

I would just love to be able to use command and tab inside the game menu options so I didn't have to quit Undying in order to surf the web for help.

Let me know what you find out.

The code for more health is:

set aeons.patrick health 999

which I found here: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/guides/...ng/p10_01.html

There's a note saying your can't have more than 100 health when you battle one of the family members.

Lemme know if this works for you.

Bug still unresolved.... sent a saved game to Aspyr but haven't heard back in a week.

I think this one's got them stumped also.

Am I the only one who can't make it past this point (have the shield spell, at the front gate)?

Am I the only one who doesn't get a text field upon pressing Command-Tab?

I was LOVING this game, and I'm only a third of the way through it.... very frustrating!

I haven't even gotten up to Lizabeth yet. I think that I am almost there, the code that you gave me came in quite handy. I will let you know if it doesn't let me have the full health when I finally get up to her.

Like I said, pressing the tab button (without commmand) worked for me and I was able to enter "set aeons.patrick health 999" and it came right up.

However, when I type in "ShowFPS" it returns "-1". No matter where I am it displays that.

I love the game as well, but I don't play it that often due to getting sick when playing any type of FPS.

Good Luck.

Kodiak:

Have you made it past Lizbeth, then to the island where you pick up the Shield spell, then returned to the main manor gate?

If you have, did the groundskeeper appear to let you out?

I'm still standing at that gate, and unable to proceed. I'm wondering if I'm the only one to run into this bug.

Thanks!
