Few controllers have any mac specific drivers, even if mouse driver support is pretty good.
But relax, there is an easy answer to that problem: USB Overdrive. It's still in beta for OSX, but the indication on the website is that it is soon to be finished, and that even this beta offers pretty good support. You can try it out and if it works, go register it (a sh!tload of work has gone into this app, so I at least think the guy deserves the $20 registration fee), if not, dump it. Check the website at: www.usboverdrive.com.

thanks...but this app does not yet support game controllers on Jaguar.
i tried Game Pad Companion, but while it seems to map the buttons and work in test mode, it does not work in the game.
Max Payne is a little hard to play on keyboard (for me!)....any other suggestions?

Unfortunately, GamePad Companion is the only solution if the game doesn't support gamepads in OS X . I have some games like that, for example, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and Spider-Man. All you can hope for is that someday the companies release updates or try USB Overdrive X when it supports gamepads.

But Overdrive in Mac OS X doesn't support gamepads so it isn't an option. Download the demo of GamePad Companion. It will work for 45 days without registering. Maybe by than a final release of USB Overdrive X will be out.

Sorry, owlboy, I didn't see that . I'm waiting for USB Overdrive X to make a choice on purchasing GamePad Companion. I'm thinking USB Overdrive X will work better.
