Does anyone remember OIDS?

Any idea when an OS X version is going to be released, their site says it's in development but hasn't been updated in 6 months.

Whose site? Who is developing OIDS?... What was the name of the old FTL game??...

One of the original developers bought the rights to the original FTL game, which was called OIDS.

Anyway I found his website yesterday, Xavagus Prime Software, and sent him an email asking when the OS X version would be done.

Here is the reply:

Well, I hope it will be soon. I am finishing up now, but I had to take on a full time job, and a new baby have slowed things down a bit. It is coming along nicely and is really fluid in its gameplay. Very addictive.

FTL (Faster Than Light) was (is?) the best game developer of the eightees!

With only four games under their belt, all were indeed lightyears ahead of their time. In gameplay, graphics and depht. You'd be hard pressed to find such games today.
