What do you think of it for playing the latest games, is it a huge improvement over the Geforce 4MX

Has anyone substituted the MX version with the Ti?

I'm about to do exactly that. I have the 4MX in my dual-gig QuickSilver (SDRAM) and have ordered the 4Ti to replace it. Currently Apple is "assembling" my order.

I think that there is a HUGE difference between the Ti and the MX. I have both cards running on two machines, and RtCW, Quake 3, Soldier of Fortune 2, and Medal of Honor especially play quite a bit better on the better card. In Soldier of Fortune 2 and Medal of Honor I had to lower resolutions down to 1024x768, as well as some details lowered. But now I can keep it at 1280x1024 with everything maxed out. Also it is fun to watch massive battles in Warcraft 3.

I have the same set-up. You can set most graphics settings to max and still enjoy decent frame rates.

MX's suck. The GF4MX is basically a overclocked GF2 and the benchmarks prove it. If you game or need the GPU for work get a Ti and save yourself the pain.

I use a GeForce 4 Ti in my new PowerMac, and I can run any game at the highest resolutions with 100+ FPS.
