Greetings. I'm not exactly a quake newbie, so I'm primarily just posting this to determine if I'm the only one with this problem.

I have tried upgrading my existing install to 1.32 (with each of the 1.32 betas), tried installing from scratch from my CD, also. It runs fine in 1.32 but I cannot enable punkbuster. The UI control for it is there and seems functional, but when I click "yes" and accept, it does not enable, thus relagating me to servers without punkbuster... (more accurately, relagating me to play q3 on my pc, which is what I built it for, but I keep my mac q3 install up to date for academic purposes

My re-install procedure includes trashing the main q3 directory, plus all the stuff in ~/Library/Application Support/Quake3. I reinstalled from the CD, then apply the following updates in this order:

MacQuake3-1.30
macall-q3a-1-31-beta4
quake3-132-test2
Quake3-132-Test4-Update

Anyway, as I mentioned, everything seems fine except punkbuster. Any ideas?

After checking around a bit, I found some more info:

-snip-
Headway has been made getting "PunkBuster" supported on the Mac as well. Developed by Even Balance Inc., the technology is designed to circumvent cheating in online games. Devine said that PunkBuster support will require additional files from Even Balance before it'll work, but the groundwork has been laid in this new release, apparently.

So, my install isn't busted, there's just no punkbuster support for mac yet. It's really too bad that all the mac quake 3 players are basically s.o.l., since almost all of the servers now use punkbuster (which works fine for the windows version). Oh well :/
