I have a TiBook 667, and enjoy playing my favorite game, Civ III on it. Civ III worked beautifully until I installed Jaguar. Now the game won't play at all. I have to boot into OS 9 to play it. Sigh. No help from Infogrames, either on their help site, or in response to my e-mail ("contact your hardware manufacturer"--yeah, right). Anybody else have this problem? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. No joy.

what happens? I had some problems that seemed to go away when I updated Civ to the most current version which was released like two months ago. Try that and if it's still not working could you give more details?

I'm up to version 1.21g. This version was playing fine on my TiBook until I upgraded to Jaguar. Now, I can get through the opening animations; after the animations finish, the following pops up:

Drawsprocket cannot switch to the requested resolution (1152x870, 16 bit, 1 buffer(s)).

Make sure your computer meets the display requirements specified in the Read Me file.
The weird thing is, the TiBook's native resolution is 1152 x 768. Where in the hades is it getting 1152x870? And it doesn't get far enough to let me change it. I can't seem to find a .plist file for the game. I'm at a loss. Until then, I guess I'll have to boot into OS 9 to play.

Sigh. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

hold down option as you launch the game. And change the rez it's trying to play in.

That did the trick! Thanks very much. I'd forgotten about Option-starting, and my manual is still packed away from my last move.

Yes! Well, back to world domination
