Damn Fifa 2002 looks so damn fine and it ain't on the Mac. There are no good sports games on the Mac apart from Links. Until EA shows some support the Mac can never be treated as a proper gaming platform. I guess we have to thank Apple for sticking sub-entry level graphics card in $3000 machines.

Actually, i'm the lead in the software department of a western NY Circuit City, and as far as the specifications say on the box of Madden 2003, Nascar Thunder 2003, and FIFA World Cup 2002 (2003 isn't being released until later this month), even the cards on the iMacs (GeForce 2MX) would be just fine for all of these games. Not to mention the GeForce4's that come on the Power Mac line which have 64mb of video memory. And let's be real, i know from numerous conversations with customers that the game itself is MUCH better played on a home console rather than a PC. Also, if you would check out the sales for EA and their sports lineup, their titles sell over 5 times as many copies on consoles than they do for the PC. Therefore, if I were EA, i wouldn't bother making a version for the Mac either. Believe me, i love my Mac more than any other product i have plugged into a socket, but my GameCube plays Madden better than i've seen even the highest end of consumer PC's. So yes, it would be "nice" if EA would bring some sports games over to the Mac. Would i buy one? Hell no. Consoles all the way for sports gaming.

I have to agree there. NASCAR Thunder 2003 is spectacular on my Nintendo Game Cube. Though I would love a Mac OSX version with the more indepth car setups and the ability for online racing leages.

True about the online factor. BUT, within a year all of the new EA games will be online on all three next gen consoles. I still maintain my arguement.

I agree with you both on that one. Consoles will always have a market. I think I'm gonna play me some NASCAR Thunder 2003 on my PS2 with this racing wheel. LOL Good call on that one, Footy.

These are a couple links to a new soccer game that *is* available for the Mac... the gameplay is very different than FIFA (I hear, I've never played FIFA), but it's got quite a cult following. Not for everyone, but worth checking out.
