Hey guys I'm getting a mac and its been a long time. Last one I had was the b&w Mac Classic!! And I just bought me a new powerbook w/ superdrive and 1 gig memory!

My question is, will I get GREAT gaming performance with my machine? I'm still waiting for it to arrive and I can hardly wait, but I 'm just curious what the deal is. I read the other poster mention civ 3 being slow on his Ti 800 and I became more somewhat concerned. Thanks

Most games should be plenty fast on that TiBook... I have the first 667TiBook, and it handles most of the games I play rather well, but it isn't stellar. Q3, UT, Warcraft 3, Giants, all play well on my machine, especially after some options tweaking.

I'd say that you should be fine.

he likely has Quartz Full screen AA on. It will slow even the fastest systesm down to a craw. But when off Civ 3 is very playable on even a 400Mhz G3 imac.

That depends on how much time you take. If you take an hour every day, then you will probably take about a week or two. If you just take a whole day, it should suffice. Just do everything you would normally do and you get used to it rather quickly.

I just got a Ti 867, and it's literally faster than my desktop QS 867 (single-proc). I suspect it's due to the fact that the Radeon 9000 kicks the booty of the GF2MX graphics on the quicksilver. It's quite good with Warcraft III, Q3A, etc.
