Civ III freezes

Hi,

When playing Civ III if i don't regularly save my games (ie every three turns), then after moving a unit the game freezes.
I've installed the latest patch. I tried to open a bug report with US support which told me to ask french support who said the game was unsuported in France. Anyone experiencing the same kind of problems ? any known workaround ?

I ran into this and I was told that it's not actually crashing. Give it a minute or so and see if it comes back up.

This happens to me if I have something that draws in the menubar running in the background - examples include the program Meterologist. Simply quitting these programs will solve the problem.

I would have prefered a patch but ok taking notes for tyhose two updates.
