I have not played many games in the last few years.
I recently downloaded and am enjoying ghost recon.
Should I buy this one or are there better games available?
The main one I am thinking about is Medal of Honor, but there is no demo available. I like the pace of ghost recon and I like the idea of WWII sim of medal of honor.
I'm using a flat panel imac 17"

I don't know why people like Medal of Honor...it just ain't that great. In fact, I think it plain sucks.

It really bothers me when lots of people think the complete opposite of what I'm thinking. I feel like such an outcast.

Everything from the gameplay to the graphics...it just didn't impress me at all.

I've also grown tired of first-person shooters...it's been overdone.

I like MoH:AA. I think the graphics are cool and it has a great sense of atmosphere in the Single Player campaign.

Ghost Recon is cool. The big thing I like about Ghost Recon and the other Tom Clancy games for Mac is the Coop play. MoH:AA has coop play but you have to download a mod and then find or setup a time to play with someone else. And only certain maps will play with the coop mod. One really cool aspect with Ghost Recon is that when you play at your LCD's native resolution, it won't distort the image. The main gameplay world is rendered in widescreen instead of being rendered as if the image were stretched to fit the screen (most other 3D games render as stretched). A circle is a circle instead of an oval.

Wolfenstein is nice too. I prefer MOH's single player campaign better than RtCW's and sound effects, but RTCW has a much more elaborate multiplayer system. It is class based (not necessarily new to multiplayer games) but it's well balanced.

If you want some good cheap gaming, you can dig up the wolf beta test3 of castle wolfenstein and do some serious fragging online for free. You have to search for it online, but it's out there somewhere. The full version rocks, of course.

You can download tons of shareware games at MacGamefiles.com.

Insidemacgames.com also has great reviews of mac games. You've got a pretty good gaming setup, and there's plenty to play out there if you search.

Go to Emulation.net if you want to find some cool emulators to play classic arcade games, NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. You have to search to find the roms, but it's good cheap fun as well.

Bugdom2 is a fun game that you can download, purchasing to unlock later levels.

Check out ambrosiasw.com for some of the best shareware mac games on the planet, as well as some good utilities.

Have Fun!

Buy Quake 3 Gold. It's been around a while, it works well on most computers, it's very fun, and it's cheap. Plus you can downlaod a number of mods for it!
World of Warcraft (Whisperwind - Alliance) <The Eternal Spiral>

bit of a change here, but you should recognize your chance to grab a great game now for the mac.

Fallout 2

it's the best rpg evermade (imnsvho) and though the graphics are 2d iso, which some people don't like, i like it...

and it's cheap.
just got ported to osx by omni!

$30.
