Wow...most farfetched port request ever.
It's like asking when Zelda or Metroid or Mario is going to be ported to Mac.

The reason I ask was that I borrowed my Brother's Xbox over the weekend with the aforementioned game. I really like the game and had hoped that it would be ported to Mac. I heard a rumor that Xbox games were going to be ported to Mac in the future.

I own the game, and "only for xbox" is printed on the case. Although the same goes for Halo (which is coming to the mac soon), this type of game probably won't be ported over.

Sure, with the XBox flailing in the marketplace, MS are going to start porting the games over to the Mac. That'll help them. Not.
MS has zero, zip, nada interest in promoting the Mac gaming world.
In short, this isn't going to happen. Some people are still waiting for the vaunted Halo which the pro-Mac Bungie was developing before MS bought them out. Sure, they promised it would ship for Mac, but we're still waiting over a year later. The smart money is on this one never appearing.
So don't hold your breath. MS is doing all it can to make games XBox-only (and if you buy an XBox, you're helping their goal)

There's not a good chance too many people will buy an xbox (especially after christmas) and a smart thing for Microsoft to do is to port more games over to the Mac/PC because they will buy them. The execs behind Microsoft, I'm sorry to say, are smart people.

Not exactly, Jansar.
You see, Microsoft themselves don't write the games. They just get a license fee for each copy sold for the XBox.
When a publisher releases a game on multiple consoles, Microsoft get a license fee for each XBox game sold, Sony get a license fee for each PlayStation game sold, and Nintendo get the license fee for each GameCube game sold.
Therefore Microsoft only get money for XBox games.
Their strategy is to try to persuade game publishers to release games on XBox-only. In the case of OddWorld, they persuaded the publisher to release it on XBox only, presumably for either lower license fees (leaving more $$s for the authors), or for co-marketing dollars to help push copies out.
Clearly their hope is that people would buy the XBox to play the game.
If this game were now released on other platforms, MS wouldn't get the money.
