Hi everyone,

I tried installing GLTron for the first time yesterday, and it unexpectedly quits as soon as I run it. I have a dual 1.25 GHz G4 with 10.2.2 on it. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks,
Phil

Working fine on my iBook 800. I wonder if dual processors give it a problem?

A good way to check and see if it's something you've installed is to create a new user account and log into it and try and play with that account. If it works, it's a software conflict somewhere (bad preference, third-party app not playing nice)...

I have the same computer as you, but it seems to work fine. however it DOES have problems when you adjust its video settings. As bad as it is, leave it on its defaults and it should be fine.

i've had problems with the macosx version, it's a very buggy port...awesome game though

i remember it stopped working after my SBLive in OS9, and the author pointed me to an obscure update to some sound library. might want to do googling on the names of the libraries on the folder. wish i could get it to work.

I am running it on a g3 400mhz osx..

It worked for a while then crashed on every new game as you got to steer it.
I deleted the preference folder and re-installed it. And it works again...I had messed with the setting. Leave them on Default and hopefully i will kepp working.
I dont play many games . This one is the best I have played on the computer ever.

Very Addictive.

Any more free games this good out there?
i and i am an ideeot , yes

Not sure about the problems, but I'd agree that it's pretty fun. The only annoying thing I find is that the computer players just tend to run around in squares, and the best strategy for the human player is to just run around the very outside, which is a bit boring, and isn't much of a strategy in terms of what one was able to do in the 2d version.

You also can't turn fast enough even at the slowest speed, again making good strategy harder - and the computer players seem to be able to run down the same lines more than once. I guess they just know exactly when to turn.

Anyway, it would be really cool if they put in a real scoring system and level system.. I always liked Beam Wars in classic, and it had some good ideas there.

As for other such good free games, Enigma and the free port of Tux Racer are up there on my list!
