Yeah! I got F1!

but now I need a steering wheel,
because using a keyboard to drive a formula 1 car really sucks.

Does anyone know which wheel to buy?

I read something about force feedback, anyone with experience with this?

thanks.

Can you use the Logitech wheels with OSX even though they don't say Mac compatible?

If so, I'm looking at the Logitech MOMO racing wheel.

I have the Logitech for my Game Cube and it's a great wheel.

Yeah I always thought none of the Logitech wheels worked with OS X (or the Mac in general). Does F1 support it?

Well, the only one on the Logitech site that says Mac compatible is the Logitech Wingman Formula GP. Not the Wingman Formula Force GP That Edwin is testing, so that's why I ask. If Edwin can run that on his Mac I'm thinking that I could possible get the Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel and run it.

I sent Logitech an email via their website last night asking about support of their MOMO Racing wheel for OSX. They say it's not supported yet but they are currently working on it. Impressively fast return on that email I might add.

The logitech steering wheel works now in 10.2.2 BUT with no FFB and I can confirm though that I have played a beta of F1 with FFB and it is cool.

Thanks Edwin,

Do you think the MOMO Racing wheel is worth a shot? I mean do you think it will work in OSX 10.2.2? That's the one I want. Maybe Logitech is only waiting for OSX 10.2.3 before claiming it will work with OSX since the force feedback wont work under 10.2.2.

The Logitech Steering wheel does work in 10.2.2 with F1, BUT with no Force Feedback.

I would definatally reccomend it as I have no problems with it's build quality or feel.

This steering wheel has just the one common issue that resides with all steering wheels the pedals will slip around if it is not on a carpet. (I use a blob of blue tack on my floor to keep it 100% still on the wooden floors.)

Tell me what the "momo racing wheel" is and by what company and I will try and find out it's compatibility.

(I cannot promise anything but I will try and find out.)

It's a Logitech. MOMO is a type of force feedback from what I can tell. I'd buy it now even if the force feed back didn't work, as long as it does in the future. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?pa...p;languageid=1

I sent Logitech an e-mail Friday night and got a responce within 24 hours.
Responce: "We are sorry to say that Logitech MOMO Racing wheel is not suppoeted withMac OSX. There are current developments for a release of Logitech MOMO Racing wheel supporting Mac OS X. I currently do not have a time frame as to when."

The wheel your using isn't listed as supported either and I would have probable gotten the same responce if I had emailed them about that one.

Thanks Edwin

I would think there drivers will cover all force feedback wheels.

BUT to be save I would wait till the FFB is released.
