Yahoo's Word Racer is completely unplayable for me. Apparently, the java app font makes all the letters into blobs for me. I have e-mailed yahoo constantly, and get the same unhelpful response over and over again. (Funny...yahoo's whole corperation is computer automated, even the question/comments/complaint e-mail department)

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please....if anyone has any info....

I am actually getting dumber from not playing. I feel my brain morphing to its infant stage. I need Word Racer.

Funny, I have the exact same problem. But, here's the deal... When I installed Java 1.4.1, all of the letters looked great! That is, until I got my new powerbook. Installed 1.4.1 and everything, but now the letters look like the same blobs they always have. I can't figure out what's going on.

doh, i'm a little late to the party but i found a fix to the letter blob problem and wanted to post it everywhere so that it might save someone else hours of tweaking preferences and googling.

"for me, if i disable font "#HeadLineA", with Font Book, it changes the font within yahoo games but it's still an ugly cursive script font. i then disabled "#PilGi" font. it's much easier to read now. i'm not sure what determines the font but it's a work around.

you'll have to quit safari and reopen to see the changes.

if i "validate" these two fonts, it gives an error for "PostScript Compatibility Table". don't know what exactly this means."

the font isn't bad but it's hella better than the blobs.

yay!
