Nice! Even though it won't be ready for the holidays, progress is going well. http://www.apple.com/games/macworld/sf03/ . It will be playable at MWSF!

I still think it was a rather stupid move to not release this game as a Mac/PC simultaneously release...or at least a month or two after the PC release.

It's kinda impossible to tell what kind of damage non-simultaneous releases cause but I know for a fact that my wanting to buy the game drops significantly. Of course, UT is one of my favorite games, so Epic is lucky that it won't affect my decision to buy it...but I won't ever buy games like EverQuest and Halo (even though I was eager to play Halo) which are now old like the earth.

Huh? I don't see it listed anywhere.

Anyways, I wonder how well it will run on my TiBook 1 GHz Radeon 9000 64 MB DDR in OS X.

By the way is there a OS X UT port? UT in Classic truly is terrible.

Yes, there is a UT OS X patch. It's been out for awhile. The UT OS X patch is at preview release 3. It's not bad, it could use some bug fixes and performance improvements. Here it is... http://www.versiontracker.com/morein...059&db=mac

Man I am excited!!!

Unreal Tournament is hands down the best first person shooter ever... (maybe because it is the first one i got addicted to)

but that is just my opinion

That's gonna be cool though, too bad I will have to get a new graphics card. GeForce 2 MX just doesn't cut it anymore.

So, anyone know any system requirements for it? I've got an aging Mac that probably won't play it. And I gearing up to buy a new Mac. I'd like to get a new Mac around the same time as they release this. And I want to get something that will play this game fairly easily.

The power of the FAQ:

Operating System: WIN 98/ME/2000/XP
CPU: Pentium III or AMD Athlon 733MHz processor (*Pentium® or AMD 1.0 GHz or greater RECOMMENDED)
Memory: 128 MB RAM (256 MB RAM or greater RECOMMENDED)
Hard Disk Space: 3 GB
CD ROM or CD/DVD ROM: 8X
Audio System: Windows® compatible sound card (*Sound Blaster® Audigy(tm) series sound card RECOMMENDED) (NVIDIA® nForce™ or other motherboards/soundcards containing the Dolby® Digital Interactive Content Encoder required for Dolby Digital audio. Also RECOMMENDED)
Video System: 3D Accelerator card with 16 MB VRAM (*32-128 MB VRAM RECOMMENDED) 16 MB TNT2-class DirectX® version 6 compliant video card. (*NVIDIA GeForce 2/ATI Radeon RECOMMENDED) DirectX® version 8.1 (Included on game disc)
Multiplayer: Internet (TCP/IP) and LAN (TCP/IP) play supported. *Internet play requires a 33.6 Kbps or faster modem

I'm pretty darn sure there are no Mac reqs posted yet, so you'll have to make an educated guess based off of the above. Of note, my friend ran the demo on a souped up GF2 and it ran great. If you have anything better than that, it should be fine.

They said they would release a demo/beta test. If they do, you can make sure if it will run on your computer .

Keep in mind that Mac drivers are much worse than PC drivers, so your computer should be decently better than the Windows reqs.

I think that's the commercial for Unreal Championship for Xbox, which is UT2k3 under a different name for some odd reason.

As far as I know...Unreal Championship is *not* UT2k3. But hell, I have no clue at all since I've played neither.
