If you're someone who needs 30+ FPS to have fun, I don't think you will enjoy it on your machine. However, I played the beta for several months on my PB550 and had a great time until the end when they messed up the sounds. From what I see on the wwii mac discussion board, the sound issues still haven't been worked out. Once I get a faster machine and the client gets better, I'll probably go back, but for now, I'm enjoying all the free time I have by not playing

A dual 800 with a GeForce Ti barely gets up to 30. When you're not playing infantry though, it's not really a twich game. I stuck mostly to armor and AT/AA guns since you don't have to swing around wildly. Also it helps to stay away from big cities like Antwerp, since those locations put much more strain on your system. I had a lot of fun participating in the fights I could play in, whether or not I was on the the winning side. It's the teamwork that makes the game fun, not so much the graphics.

I just noticed you have a 1GHz TiBook. That should handle the game better than your Dual 500, since the game does little to take advantage of the spare processor.

Lack of 1.40 to the mac gives you few servers to play on. I found none :O(

yeah, I really want the game, it sounds like what Castle Wolf should have been... but it doesn't seem to bet getting much attantion. I think that my gigabook with 64MEG ATI 9000 should be playable... and it's only $34.95 at the apple store.

Remember that it has a subscription fee. I think it's around $12 a month. Overall, I had fun while I was testing WWIIOL, and if finances weren't so tight, I'd probably subscribe to it. It's a niche product so you don't necessarily have a lot of obnoxious 12 year olds that annoy everyone.

glad to hear that it's for a more mature crowd, I like the idea of a "realistic" WWII game, with out the guy fraging all his pals for fun..
