I'm asking for help from anyone out there who owns RTCW and a new 1 GHz Tibook.
Install RTCW in OS X, and make sure you use the DEFAULT settings. Then play the game. Bring down the console with the "~" key, and type "/cg_drawfps 1". This will show how many frames per second the game is showing.
My brand new Tibook gets less than 10fps most of the time in OS X, but gets much more in OS 9 (30-50). Do you get similar OS X framerates? I'm really beginning to think that something is wrong with my system. Thanks in advance!

I get about 30-50 fps depending on settings (and actual location in the game) on my 15inch FP iMac, so yes, yours should be much higher.
I read somewhere else that deleting your prefs for the game (in the Library/Application Support folder) and let the game recreate it helps.

I mentioned this in his query to the IMG forums.
It's an issue with the 1.33 patch and TruForm. It affects all ATI cards regardless of their TruForm capabilities. By manually disabling r_ati_pntriangles and r_ati_truform_tess (setting their values to 0) the performance should increase tremendously. Or one can use the 1.32 w/ pak hack.

I just got my new 1ghz titanium book today! So I installed RtCW and had the same problem, no matter the settings....16 fps always. I changed those things u said, and the fps did not change at all... This new powerbook is awesome!

I put these lines into my wolfconfig.cfg and performance jumped up to 40-50 frames per sec
seta r_ati_truform_tess "0"
seta r_ati_pntriangles "0"
seta r_ext_ATI_pntriangles "0"
seta r_glIgnoreWicked3D "0"
This file originally had a line which set r_ext_ati_pntriangles so i just copied it and set it to 0
