Hey All,
One of my Wavebird controllers is not responding today.
It's getting power but it's not sending to the thingy that's plugged in to the Game Cube. Anybody expereance this?
Yes, I've canged the batteries. And it's not the adapter that plugs into the Cube because the other controller will work fine through it.
Guess I just have a bad controller. DAMN!
Thanks

Try pulling the wavebird controller off GameCube then reinsert it back.
It have happened to me once but I fixed it by pulling it off then reinsert.

Hey Adam,
That's one of the things I tried. The reciever is working, we have 2 wavebirds and the other controller works fine with the reciever so it has to be the controller itself. Tried new batteries with no luck. The controllers light does come on. It's just not sending.
I called a local place that does Nintendo services and he said I can have it replaced at a cost because I"m 9 (yes only 9) days outside of my 90 day warrenty for free replacement. Says it'll be about $20 or a bit less. We'll see, he's calling rep about it. Fisrt wavebird he's seen go bad.
Thanks though

Since the receiver worked with a second controller, I'm guessing you've already tried a different channel, but in case you haven't...

Yeah, thanks bud!
I've tried every possible corrective action. This is all made easier to trouble shoot since I have two controllers.
Nintendo really does have some good support. I called them today, yes on a Sunday. They told me that since I already talked to a local Nintento replacement parts guy, who is going to check to see if I can get a free replacement on Monday since I'm 9 days past a 90 day warranty, to wait and see if he can get me a free controller on Monday. If not, then send it directly to Nintendo and they will send me another within a week (for free of course). So I'm guessing since the person I talked to at Nintendo says they will replace it for free then the guy at the shop should get the same responce back. Don't know, but Nintento has already issued me a Repair Authorization number so I can still go that route and send it directly to them. Bottom line, free replacement 9 days past warranty.
This controller had been acting a bit funny about 30 days into having it. While playing a game the action of the controller would stop for a very slight second and go back to normal then do it a few more times. I just thought it was something to do with the batteries going low so I'd change them out when it happened. Seemed to fix it for the most part but it would happen again every so often even with new ones. Not sure, all I know is it isn't working at all now.
