Hey Rob,

I pre-ordered NASCAR a couple weeks ago from Aspyr and it's now on the way. I got my e-mail with Fed-Ex info last night. I'm sure by Monday I'll have it, would be nice to have my hands on it tomorrow.

I sent a few questions into Logitech in reference to their wheels and they still say that they are only for PC. I don't know what to believe because Apple says that Aspyr says that all FF wheels from Logitech work. I'm just wondering if they wheel's buttons will be programable from with-in NASCAR. Also sent an email to Aspyr asking specifics about the Logitech wheels supporting NASCAR. Well see what comes of it.

I'm not sure what Logitech is up to but I'm figuring that the only reason they didn't stamp their FF wheels as "Mac/PC" is that OSX didn't support FF at the time of release. I mean their only non FF wheel is listed as Mac compatible even though they don't have actual software for it.

I need answers because I'm going to have to buy a wheel this weekend (probable tonight). Guess if it doesn't work out I'll just bring it back, but there aren't a lot of options for Mac specific wheels right now.

I'll probable sort some things out here on my desk to fit the Logitech MOMO FF wheel.

LOGITECH'S EMAIL RESPONCE TO ME: The Logitech MOMO Racing wheel will work only with a PC. It is not designed to work with a Macintosh system.

Regarding your enquiry about the MOMO wheel for Macintosh, please periodically visit www.logitech.com and check for updates on this issue.

Rob and Others,

I couldn't stand the wait so I ran out this morning and picked in up at CompUSA.

I'll let you know later today how it goes.

thanks for being the guinea pig for us Footy...

i was in an Apple Store tonight...(an becoming less and less impressed by the quality of their sales help, btw).

Nascar2002 in stock at $40......nothing on box at all about compatibility with anything..or even system requirements.

In answer to my question about available wheels, the Apple genius on staff was convinced that none exist, nor will any version of Jaguar even support FF (!!)

Hey Rob,

I brought back the MOMO Racing and they took their 15% restock fee (turds). Anyway, I got the Thrustmaster NASCAR Digital 2 wheel which is one of the wheels that Aspyr tested with. It works great! No problems what so ever. It's a pretty great game (sim).

Aspyr has been very helpful. They sent emails back and forth with me all afternoon yesterday trying to straighten things out with the Logitech info that was out there. Thing is, even though Apple states that the Logitech wheels are compatible at their NASCAR Racing game page they are not and Aspyr never even tested with a Logitech wheel.

The system requirments are on the box at the very bottom but you can go to Aspyr and get them now if you like.

Thrustmaster wheel (Digital 2)..NOT FF, right??

....well there's no FF wheel for my xBox either, even though Sidewinder FF Wheel is made by MSFT....so go figure.

I have a Logitech wheel (not the Momo version) and it works fine with WWIIOnline, 4x4 Evo, and the F1 demo. It's the wheel that's 'designed' (read, different color) for the PS2 and Gran Turismo 3. It's basically their WingMan Formula Force GP wheel but blue instead of red.
I plan to pick up NASCAR as soon as it's available locally, so I'll see if I can figure something out.

I am using the Logitech F1 GP FF wheel in OS X with full FF support in F1 2000 (This was my testing wheel during our FF testing). Thus I would say this will be supported with FF in NASCAR too.

Hope this helps

MOMO Racing wheel fix. Strange, but it works. And yes, I went and bought another one after having brought the first one back.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I took a chance and purchased to MOMO Racing Logitech wheel (black with red stripe, Part Number 963282-0403) and although it DOES work fine with Nascar 2002, it will NOT work on the PS2, which is what I was hoping. It doesn't even recognize that anything is plugged in. I tried it with NFS: HP2, and Grand Prix Racing.

I guess I'll take the stinking restocking fee and get either the Logitech F1 GP FF wheel (if my CompUSA has it, which I don't think they do), or the Logitech Formula™ Force GP, which is known the be a rebadged GP FF and should work, but doesn't have the lap attachment or all the buttons.

The MOMO wheel is very sweet, though. When playing NASCAR, you do have to do that little trick mentioned earlier to make it work. Tough game... but the wheel helps

If you're looking for a wheel for both your Mac and your PS2, go get the Logitech Driving Force wheel (for PS2). I have successfully get it to work on both system. I tried Nascar 2002 on the Mac side, and NFS:HP, GT3, Crazy Taxi on the PS2 side. Both systems work well with the force feedback function as well.

Just my $0.02!

Thanks for your advice. I took back the momo (no restocking fee!) and bought the PS2 Driving force wheel which works great on both systems!
