I want to buy myth III and run it under OS X. I played the demo and feel that the performance is reasonable. But when I checked the review macuser.co.uk had on it it gave it 2 mice (mainly stability).

I am wondering if the stability problems have been fixed or is it
still as horible as it first came out ?

Most people will tell you that Myth 3 is a total piece of crap.

Myth III under OS X rocks thanks to the patch v1.1 made by the folks over at mythdev.net.

Now it's one of my favorite games.

The Myth Dev patch (1.1) sorts EVERYTHING out, it's great.

I had graphic issues and occasional creashed/kernal panics. The patch fixes this, adds units, and fixes gameplay bugs.

I love this game now.

Yeah, Myth III really sucked. I'm very thankful that this patch works so well. I'm also thankful of the OS X patch for Myth II, cuz come on, its the best Myth game. It still is thanks to the large number of mods and patches out for it.

I never Played Myth II, but it certainly is the darling of the Myth community. Myth II and III multiplayer games are available at playmyth.net, but there are by far more Myth II players showing up to play. I think the initial underwhelming release of Myth III caused a lot of people to stay in Myth II land.

I think the patch brings Myth III up to par with Myth II.

The Myth III 3-D engine is far better, though. Characters, airborne weapons, and stuff like trees and water are all modeled.
