Sort-of a peripherals question, but do ya use one except for games???

Just wondering what the state of joysticks was. Last one I had was serial, and worked 2 Macs ago... figure we're USB based now.

Anything particuarly good/bad? Thinking of FPS games, and some nostalgic MAME games for use.

OSX doesn't do joysticks/gamepads very well. There is a new API for it, but it's lower label than GameSprockets, so it's not widely supported. I can't ever play Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 on OSX because it's too tough without the game pad after using it under OS9.

I can't think offhand of any games on OSX that support joysticks/gamepads, although likely there are a few. It's not like OS9 though.
