I've only played the Helm's Deep maps. There are two variants, one sucks and one doesn't. I can't tell the difference between the two until I download them though. The sucky one has a special extension to the main map for Gandalf to come from with the Riders of Rohan.

Heros of middle earth III is pretty nice. The LOTR RPG maps are boring because someone always lags out/quits, and they are darn near impossible to beat without everyone.

Go onto battle.net and just join a game that is using the map. If you don't have the map, then it'll automatically download it.
