Hi,

Anybody know of a way to remove the XP cap in BGII? If there isn't one for Mac OS (I assume that the cap is bolted in the executable somewhere) I'd appreciate any pointers as to how to develop one...

If you are keen on hexediting, here are the instructions for the PC version (use at your own risk or at least back up the app ):

"Remove XP Cap
To remove the Experience Point Cap in Baldur's Gate 2, first browse to your BG2 directory and make a copy of the BGMain.exe application file. Then, open a Hex Editor and open BGMain.exe. Search for the ASCII string 'xpcap' (all lower case). Change the 'x' to another character (any letter should work). Save the file, and launch BG2."

You could also try placing in the relevant files into the override folder from

Didn't work (string exists, changing the 'x' letter doesn't do a thing) :/

Woo-hoo. The top cheat from the page worked (XPCAP.2DA in override directory).

Thanks a lot!
