I'm getting kernel panics whenever I try playing a game. I don't remember that happening before 10.2.3. I know that patch included updates to enhance OpenGL with the Rage Pro 128 16MB.

The games I've tried thus far are Warcraft III, Alias, the RTCW SP demo and the Ghost Recon demo. Deleting prefs doesn't help.
(I haven't looked at any crash logs yet, that's next.)

Has anyone run in to this?

(Specs: Cube 450/1.2 MB ram/Rage Pro 128/33 GB HD space free)

Have you installed ATI's October 2002 update? If so, maybe that caused the problems. It seems that this update does more bad then good.

Try re-installing the update prior to October 2002.

Had some strange craches too after installing October update, Jedi Knight II wouldn't launch anymore.

Unfortunately, I ended up re-installing OSX.2.. Hope u don't have to go trough the same

And if you didn't instaal October update, then I still suggest a fresh install of OSX. Kernel Panics aren't quite healthy

I hadn't installed that ati update, so I re-installed Jag. So far, no kernel panics, so I'm pretty sure that .3 was the problem after all. Bring on Jag.4!
(Well, the RTCW SP demo still panicked, but I'm now told that one never worked.)
