Yeah, it's not coming to the mac ever. EA said that it would be too much work for them to support such a massively online game on two different platforms, for which revenue from one (i.e. mac) would be insubstantial.
I got The Sims Online on my PC and since they pushed back the release date in Europe til end of March I get it free until mid April because I'm still in the "play test"
I hope they do decide to port it, it's a great game but VERY slow and buggy
