The Mac is being ignored in the publishing of a lot of great adventure games simply because many companies think that it isn't worth it to port them to the Mac. Companies like DreamCatcher for instance: I hope I'm wrong but I read somewhere that they will not make the Riddle Of The Sphinx sequel (The Omega Stone) for the Mac.
But even if they do port The Omega Stone to the Mac, games like Schizm, Odyssey, Necronomicon and Syberia for example are Pc only and it's a real shame! We're missing out on the action!
There is a forum for the game Schizm on DreamCatcher's site (category Other Games) titled "Schizm for mac?". I ask you to keep this topic alive so that we Mac users can be heard and noticed:
http://dreamcatcherinteractive.com/cgi/
It might not change anything but at least they'll know we're mad as hell (like, "The gnat is still alive?!?...")
And for those of you who are non-Adventure fans we need you too. One thing unites us: the Mac is not being considered much these days and it'll only get worse, I fear.
Thank you for taking the time and au revoir.

I'm looking forward to more Mac games now that OS X is here...or am I dreaming?
I certainly feel that game resellers need to be nudged (hard...) to see what a great audience us Mac users are. I mean, some of us like to spend time playing without shooting someone's head off, am I right? I said, am I right?
If you really like adventure games, it doesn't take long before you've exhausted your local Mac store's supply... I agree with you, MacHeadCase.

For those of you interested in this topic, Dean Lewis in an other forum pointed out this news item and for us Mac adventure game fans it spells baaaaad news:
http://www.macgamer.com/news/item.php?id=6478
Also, Ubi Soft (they made Myst 3 Exile) are working on Uru (Myst 4) which is an online game. They have no intention of making a Mac version.
But a few weeks ago they posted a poll on their forum website asking if Uru was ported to the Mac, for which OS (9 or X) would Mac users buy the game if at all. This is probably just because Cyan is pushing hard for a Mac release and are trying to convince Ubi Soft.
Phoooey for all the bad news!...

In my mind there is no adventure game for the Mac before or after Baldur's Gate.

The sequels naturally sucked and the spinoffs as well
Ah well, back to pen and paper RPG.

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.
