Has there been official confirmation yet of a port of SimCity 4 to the Mac?

Cheers!

The Mac version of Sim City 4 has been given a "E" rating, and is published by Aspyr according to the ESRB. Believe what you wish.

As long as it has been optimised with vim and vigour - SC4 on the PC is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW... Seriously, as soon as you start hitting any kind of decent popuation, its time to turn off all the effects and get used to screen shudder when scrolling and lots of redraw. This is on my P4 2GHz, 1GB Ram and a GeForce3 Ti 500... so don't expect great things.

It's a great game that's been released one or two generations of hardware early. Kind of like Outcast.

There's no mention at all of SimCity 4 on Aspyr's website... not "Early Development" or any other stage for that matter.

What gives?
MacBookPro 15" / 2.16 GHz / 100 GB 7200 RPM / 1 Gb
White MacBook 13.3" / 1.8 GHz / 60GB / 1 Gb
PB 5300cs (!!!) 100 MHz / 750 Mb / 16 Mb

This is true. If you guys want proof, check out the ESRB website. No sign of a date though. Soon I would imagine

YES!! Hopefully this will come out better than 3000. Says on Maccentral that i5games is doing it, Ghost Recon is a very nice port so hopefully that will carry over.

I'm concerned about how well it will run... On a kick-ass, high spec PC, the game seriously chugs. It's SLOOOOOW. Considering Mac's have never really kept abreast of their PC cousins, and since I'll be playing on a powerbook, I really don't like the chances of it turning up in a playable form.

What size city (population) do you have? Because if your machine can run at 1024x768 with the effects turned on and not stutter at a population of 10,000 plus, you are the only one on this PLANET.
