The reason I want the PS2 wheel for my Mac is because I have 5 games currently that support the wheel for my PS2, but only 1 game for my TiGigPB that supports the wheel so far (Nascar)... I also don't have $$$ to invest in two wheels...

After some conversation with "a2daj" on the old Nascar 2002 post in this forum, I was convinced that the PS2 wheel works on Mac with 10.2.4 (via USB connection).

IT DOES! Yesterday I saw a good deal at my local BestBuy store and they listed the Logitech Driving Force steering wheel for PS2 for $69 new. After knowing I can return with restocking fee, I bought it home (the wheel is mispriced, shows up $79.99 at the register, though the nice girl matched the price for me...)

Running the Nascar Config app, I assigned all the buttons (12 plus the directional + pad) so Nascar can recognize all of them. Then I started Nascar and calibrated the wheel. Force feedback was also turned on (without a FF wheel connected the box cannot be checked). Drove (raced...) 20 laps with it and I say it's a very solid piece. The Gas & Brake padels are pressure sensitive so the harder I step on the stronger the respond is. The most wonderful part of the wheel, I say, is the force feedback feature. Racing with the in-car view, I can see the wheel on screen moves the same way my Logitech wheel moves. I tried steering the wheel a little bit (~2-3 degrees) and it reflected on the screen's steering as well... indeed a solid performer!!

All I want now is to see more FF racing games coming to the Mac so I can feel the rumbles... (Can you hear me, Feral??

Feral *is* working on a new driving game port called Total Immersion and will probably support force feedback.

Ambrosia is working on a game called Redline and will support force feedback.

Thanks Apple...it now shows that you care about 'gaming' on the Mac.

And thanks to Feral, Westlake and Ambrosia for bringing driving sims to Mac.

No, I'm talking about the Logitech Driving Force, part number 963257-0403. Check out:

But if this one works, I don't see why the GT3 wheel won't... just plug and have fun...!!
